Scouting For Klopp: 3 La Liga Players Liverpool Should Look To Sign

Liverpool aren’t done with the transfer window and could still sign a player or two before the end of the window. The Reds have been on the lookout for a few stars and most of their signings this season have been unknown quantities or not the really big players, apart from Sadio Mane.

This seems to be the policy of the Liverpool manager and he would like to build a team without breaking the bank a lot. The Reds though need to bring quality in and while Jurgen Klopp has raided Germany in recent weeks, there is a lot of talent available in Spain as well.

Liverpool did sign a few players from Spain in the last few years; Alberto Moreno hasn’t been a hit while Fernando Torres and Xabi Alonso were exceptional for the Premier League side. Keeping in mind just what kind of players they need, here are three signings that the Merseyside club should target in this transfer window.

Saul Niguez

Probably one of the best midfielders in La Liga, Saul Niguez can do it all from the middle of the park. The 21-year-old was exceptional for Atletico Madrid as the side made it to the final of the Champions League but missed out on lifting the title.

The youngster is dynamic in midfield, has a great work rate and possesses a never say die attitude, which is exactly what Liverpool need. The Reds would have to break the bank to capture the Spanish international but for quality, you have to pay.

The Reds don’t really have a world class central midfielder at the moment and the one area apart from left-back is this position that they really need to fill up.

Mikel Oyarzabal

While the Reds did sign Sadio Mane as a winger, they do not have another player for the other side. The lack of quality out wide definitely hurt Liverpool’s play last season as the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Adam Lallana, even Divock Origi were shifted out wide to compensate.

Liverpool could take a risk with the youngster Oyarzabal who made a name for himself last season with Real Sociedad. The 19-year-old was exceptional out on the left-wing and had a great game against Barcelona as well which put him into the spotlight.

The Spaniard can play almost anywhere on the top line and has been linked with a big move soon. The Reds could secure the future of their left-wing by making a quick bid for the 19-year-old and bringing him to Anfield, though they might have a pay a little over the odds.

Bruno Soriano

This might be a tricky signing for Liverpool, although the price would not be too high, the age would certainly be a factor. Bruno Soriano was one of the best players for Villarreal last season as the central midfielder did extremely well for the La Liga side that will play in the Champions League this time around.

The 32-year-old Spaniard won five man-of-the-match awards in La Liga last season and he would provide Liverpool with that extra quality in midfield that they have been missing for a number of seasons.

Soriano isn’t the most dynamic player in the league but he keeps things neat and clean in the middle of the park and that is something that the Reds could do with this season. Jurgen Klopp did sign Ragnar Klavan recently and even the central defender was not the youngest player out there so Soriano moving to Anfield should not be that big a deal.
