Scouting For LVG: 3 Alternatives For Manchester United After Losing Out On Prime Midfield Target To Bayern Munich

Manchester United must be hurting by the loss of Renato Sanches to Bayern Munich. The 18-year-old was a prime target for the English club, but the talented youngster signed for Bayern, becoming one of the costliest teenagers in the history of world football.

United for their part have denied that they were in for the youngster, but this is what every club says after they lose out on a target. The need for United manager Louis van Gaal to bring in some new blood into the midfield is of the utmost important and we provide three alternatives the Premier League side can think of the signing next season.

Adrien Rabiot

The 21-year-old might be older than Sanches, but he is one of the best players at PSG, but has not been able to get regular playing time under Laurent Blanc. Rabiot can play anywhere is midfield and can control the pace of the game as well.

He isn’t afraid of taking players on or tackling as well, and under Van Gaal he could do well in the Premier League as well. Manchester United would have to put in a decent amount to sign him from the French capital, but he would be a great addition to the side.

Saul Niguez

Who better than the man who has been starring for Atletico Madrid in midfield? Saul Niguez has been incredible this season for the other Madrid club and even though they won’t win La Liga, they could pick up the Champions League crown as they face rivals Real Madrid in a few days’ time.

Saul also can play in a number of roles across the park. He is tenacious, skillful and has an eye for goal. The midfielder has scored nine times this season and who knows how well he could do in the Premier League, and he will bring in a lot of quality that has been missing at Manchester United.

Granit Xhaka

People might comment that Xhaka is going to Arsenal, but nothing has been done yet and the Swiss midfielder could be a great signing for any club in the Premier League, but his playmaking ability and deep position would be perfect for Manchester United next season.

The 23-year-old might not be the most prolific in front of goal but he more than makes up for that with his ability on the ball and his tackling. He is another gritty player that can bring a lot of quality in the side and well could be one of the best players to come into the Premier League next season.
