Shakespeare To Make 7 Changes – Predicted 4-4-2 Leicester City Line-Up To Face Manchester United

Predicted Leicester City Lineup To Face Manchester United In The Premier League

Leicester City will embark on a trip to the Old Trafford this weekend, as they gear up to take on current Premier League leaders Manchester United on Saturday.

The Foxes have had a decent start to the new season, after narrowly losing their opening day fixture against Arsenal, before defeating newbies Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 last weekend. And they come into the game on the back of a 4-1 thrashing they handed out to Sheffield United in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night. Manager Craig Shakespeare will be hoping to carry on in a similar fashion and end United’s strong start to the new campaign.

Team News

Summer signing Vicente Iborra is still unavailable due to a groin injury. Wes Morgan is a slight doubt due to a back problem. Midfielder Danny Drinkwater and new signing Kelechi Iheanacho are back in training. Robert Huth is likely to miss out again.

Manager: Craig Shakespeare

Formation: 4-4-2

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

The Danish international will return to the starting XI after sitting out the cup game in favour of Ben Hamer.

Danny Simpson (RB)

Another player who was rested for the cup tie in the midweek, Simpson should be reinstated to the starting XI, with Daniel Amartey moving out.

Wes Morgan (CB)

There are lingering doubts over his fitness, but Shakespeare had said that his captain could be ready for the weekend game and if he is available, will definitely start.

Harry Maguire (CB)

Picked up a knock on Tuesday night, but it is expected to be nothing serious and should take his place in the heart of the defence.

Christian Fuchs (LB)

The Austrian played in a centre-half role against Sheffield United but will return to his more natural left-back position, with Ben Chilwell dropping to the bench.

Riyad Mahrez (RM)

The Algerian has displayed commendable attitude despite his intentions of leaving the club and has starred in the two league encounters. After being rested for the cup game, should return to the starting XI.

Matty James (CM)

The 26-year old has made a strong return from injury, after having not played for the club for close to two years. Should start against United.

Riyad Mahrez

Wilfred Ndidi (CM)

The 20-year old has sealed a regular starting berth in the middle of the park for Shakespeare’s side and is unlikely to sit out on Saturday.

Marc Albrighton (LM)

The former Aston Villa man was another one who sat out on Tuesday night, but is set for a return to the starting setup.

Islam Slimani (ST)

Shinji Okazaki scored in Leicester’s previous league game against Brighton, but Shakespeare might hand Slimani a start in place of Shinji, following his double against Sheffield and also keeping in mind Manchester United’s physically imposing nature.

Jamie Vardy (ST)

The Englishman was benched during the weekend, but will definitely start on Saturday at Old Trafford.

Here’s how Leicester could line up against the Red Devils:
