Sheffield United win their first Premier League away game after 13 years

Phil Jagielka was also present in the previous Sheffield United team to have won away in the Premier League

Sheffield United are enjoying their return to the Premier League under Chris Wilder.

The Blades are sitting pretty in eighth place ahead of Sunday’s games and have put up some impressive performances.

The 2-2 draw with Chelsea a few weeks ago was certainly a fantastic result and they beat Everton at Goodison yesterday.

The Blades have won two of their six Premier League games so far and have lost two, which isn’t a bad start to the campaign.

The win against Everton was certainly something to celebrate as this was the first away win in the Premier League for 13 years.

The return of Phil Jagielka also seems to have helped the Blades as he helped his new club beat his former club, and piled on the pressure on Marco Silva.

Wilder getting the best out of the team

Sheffield might not have big-name players in the team but they have been great as a collective unit.

Wilder also pulls no punches when it comes to his criticism of the team, and it is refreshing to see a manager speak his heart out and not be politically correct regarding certain decisions.

Jagielka’s return does provide the Blades with the extra Premier League experience they need, and they will have to count on the former Everton star for the rest of the campaign.

Premier League survival has to be the aim for the Blades, and it will be interesting to see how they build from this result in the coming weeks.

Wilder is an experienced manager and won’t be looking too far ahead as the season is just six games old. However, United’s displays have been promising and hopefully, they keep on progressing for the rest of the season.
