Honestly, I did not think that I will get to see this day! Ever since the transfer of Phil Chisnall in 1964, there has not been a single dealings between Liverpool and Manchester United directly.
However, this summer many believe that Liverpool may sign the Manchester United youngster Memphis Depay. Ladbrokes have reduced the odds of Depay joining Anfield to 7/4 from 7/2. The Reds were after Depay while he was at PSV but due to the influence of Louis Van Gaal and their connection from the Dutch national team, United managed to sign him over their rivals.
However the 22 year old has hardly impressed and struggled pretty much most of the season with lack of form and fitness. Now Liverpool wants to sign him again and if Jose Mourinho decides to offload him this summer, then Anfield looks to be a very possible destination.
We still doubt if the deal will take place or not, but going by the bookmaker activity it is very plausible.
