Liverpool forward Christian Benteke’s agent Eris Kismet has stated that the player may be headed out of the Anfield in the summer.
In an interview with Tutto Mercato Web, Kismet stated that there have been interests for the Belgian forward from some Italian clubs in the winter transfer window itself, the agent further discussed interest from Arsenal and Chelsea too for the forward.
Kismet told the Italian outlet:
“Interest from Italy? There are only rumours, but there was some contacts with Serie A clubs six months ago. Now, however, there is nothing. He is currently a player of Liverpool, we will analyse the situation later.”
He added: “If there have been contacts with Chelsea and Arsenal? Many clubs want the player, it’s obvious. But he is now only thinking to do well in the European Championship. He wants to win the competition with Belgium. We’ll think about his future later.”
According to the agent, Benteke is currently concentrating in the Euro 2016 for Belgium and wants to stay at the Merseyside if he is in manager Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the next campaign. The player may also consider making a move out of the Reds if he gets more playing time elsewhere as at his current age he believes he needs to be playing for more time.
With nothing concrete regarding the player’s destination if he moves out of the Reds (except for vague interests of six months ago), we can only wait and watch to see where Benteke will land himself.
