Shocking! The Star Defensive Midfielder Has Admitted That He Might Leave Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has enjoyed his time at Chelsea since interim manager Guus Hiddink took over the managerial post. With Antonio Conte coming in as a permanent manager for Chelsea, the player yet again sees his first team chances slipping away from him.

Mikel is worried that he will lose his place again. Thus, he is looking for a more permanent fixture for himself which would involve more of first team chances and more game time. In an Interview, he said:

“I have one more season with Chelsea but I know when this season ends, we will definitely sit down and try to sort out whatever needs to be sorted out. If it means me leaving, fine. If it means me staying, then I have to play because one thing I don’t want to do is to sit on the bench like I did before.”

The player was not given many first team chances during Jose Mourinho’s reign in Chelsea and with Antonio Conte coming in he does not know what to expect of his place in the club. Thus, if he does not get any assurances of playing in the first, he is open to leave the club as sitting on a bench is not something that any player would like to do.
