What Does This Spaniard’s Future At Arsenal Looks Like?

This topic has been on the minds of many Gooners around the globe. And any ardent football fan would also feel for the Spaniard who was missed most part of the second half of this season’s English Premier League with the terrible knee injury he suffered in a match against Norwich city and now has picked up an Achilles injury in March. Things are just not going Cazorla’s way. By the time he returns, the League’s title race will most probably be done and dusted. There are just 7 games remaining for Arsenal and it looks almost impossible that the Spain International will be back in time to make a huge boost to Arsenal’s title chances. This brings to the topic of what will happen to his future at Arsenal. Will Wenger and Gooners still support him the same way that they have done till now or will he be deemed as surplus to requirements?

Well, he is 31 and age is definitely not a factor that seems to be on his side. But Arsene is not a man who dumps someone just because he is on the negative side of 30’s. And to be honest, Cazorla is a star performer for Arsenal. There is no manager in the world that will dump Cazorla given the great performances he has produced for Arsenal in the past few years. Cazorla is loved by fellow players and fans as well. He has been a crowd favourite for a great amount of time. Before getting injured, the Spaniard was having another brilliant season and was very influential for Arsenal. He made just 14 appearances but created 36 chances in them. He had an average pass accuracy of 90%. Also for an attacking midfielder, he had 52% average duels won. 84% of his passes were forward passes. He is a complete footballer at Arsenal. He is a midfielder that provides creativity, holds the ball well, goes in for attack and also defends when required. One just cannot ask for anything more from a midfielder.

He is a talisman for Arsenal. Last season he was the best player for Arsenal as per me. What a stellar of a season he had. He was just everywhere for them. He had an average pass accuracy of 89%. He created a total of 78 chances and also scored 7 goals. He also won close to 60% of his average duels. He also scored 7 goals for Arsenal in the 2013-14 season and even though he played just 15 games in the EPL as he missed some matches due to a knee injury, he still created 35 chances. He had an average pass accuracy of 87% and average won 53% of his average duels. He also had a shot accuracy close to 70%. Like I said before, he is a complete footballer Arsenal has got.

I believe Cazorla is the reason why Arsenal have faltered in the bid for EPL title. He was the man who was there at the heart of everything for Arsenal. Almost all the attacks used to pass through him. He liked playing anywhere on the midfield and linked up well with Ozil and Sanchez. He was always on the counter and fast on the ball and created beautiful balls for his fellow Arsenal Attackers. There is a reason why Nacho Monreal has also openly stated that Arsenal miss Cazorla the most and with him, Arsenal would have been leading the title chase now. Cazorla has always delivered whatever was expected of him. Both Cazorla and Arsene have great respect for each other. Arsene has already told many times that Cazorla is one of the finest players that he has worked with.

With all the things mentioned above, it looks highly likely that Cazorla will be at the heart of the Arsenal midfield next season. He is a masterpiece in Arsene Wenger’s master plan and there is no way that the Frenchman would deploy a plan without him. Cazorla has only looked to get better and more matured with age and hopefully that will be the case next season too. Both fans and fellow players miss him badly and they would be absolutely delighted to have the Spaniard back in the team.
