Is This Speed Merchant A Right Option To Replace Sergio Aguero At Manchester City?

Sergio Aguero has hinted that he could leave City in the summer

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have found consistency hard to come by this season as his side are currently in the 3rd place in the points table, 10 points off Chelsea at the top of the table. The manager spent more than £150m on his squad in the summer but is still not completely happy with the options at his disposal. This has seen him linked with a move for some of the best players in Europe recently. Recent reports from the Sun has suggested that Guardiola will go all-out to land Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if Sergio Aguero leaves.

The 27-year old striker is one of the best players in his position in Europe at the moment and is a wanted man in the summer. He moved to Borussia Dortmund, his current club, 3 years ago and has made more than 100 appearances scoring 71 goals, at a rate of more than 1 in every two games. He has, in the past, played for clubs like AC Milan, Lille and AS Monaco but has now established himself as the first-choice striker for the German outfit, that is trying to compete for silverware this season.

It is understood that more than a couple of European clubs are scouting for him but Pep Guardiola is determined that he is the perfect option for the club and is ready to move for him. At his age, Aubameyang is entering the best years of his football career and will only get better. Though he has no previous experience of playing in the English league, he has played in a number of domestic leagues and should not take too long to adjust to the conditions in the Premier League.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is being lined up by Manchester City

Known for his incredible eye for goal, Aubameyang has the ability to find the back of the net, from different angles and different ranges but he is at his best when he finds a tiny bit of space in the final third. His pace and dribbling abilities are his biggest strength after his finishing and this allows him to be more effective in the final third. He is also decent in the air and will provide another dimension to the attack for his team and these attributes make him a superb acquisition for the Citizens in the summer.

The 27-year old will replace Sergio Aguero, who has not been in the best form this season – compared to his previous ones. The Argentine has now been replaced by Gabriel Jesus in the first team in the Premier League but Aubameyang will walk into the first team at the Etihad next season. The Gabon international will love playing alongside the likes of David Silva and Kevin de Bruyne and will add a goal scoring threat.

There are very few players of his quality available in the transfer market and if Manchester City are able to lure him out, he will be a super addition to their squad.

But do you think he is a perfect fit for the side next season?
