Star Duo Return: Strongest 4-3-3 Manchester United Line-Up To Face Celta Vigo

Manchester United

Predicted Manchester United Lineup To Face Celta Vigo In Europa League

Manchester United will take on Celta Vigo in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League semi-finals encounter on Thursday night at the Old Trafford.

Jose Mourinho’s men come into the game with an advantage, having beaten the Spanish outfit 1-0 in the away leg last week. After having lost their previous Premier League game 2-0 against Arsenal over the weekend, United will be keen on getting the job done, as the Europa League remains their best avenue to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Team News

United will be without the services of Ashley Young (hamstring), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Anterior Cruciate Ligament), Marcos Rojo (Anterior Cruciate Ligament), Luke Shaw (Ankle) and Timothy Fosu-Mensah (Dislocated Shoulder), who have all been ruled out for the season.

Probable Manchester United Playing XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jose Mourinho

Sergio Romero (GK)

The Argentine has done a great job whenever he has been called upon and just like last week, Mourinho will trust him to get the job done against Celta on Thursday.

Antonio Valencia (RB)

The 31-year old was one of the hosts of stars who were rested for the Arsenal game. He will return to the starting XI at right-back and will captain the side on Thursday.

Eric Bailly (CB)

Another one who was benched on Sunday, Bailly has been the best United defender over the course of the season. Will surely start the game, in place of Phil Jones.

Daley Blind (CB)

The Dutchman has done a sterling job in the centre-back role in recent weeks. Will be restored to the starting XI to partner Bailly.

Matteo Darmian (LB)

The full-back had a poor game against the Gunners over the weekend. He will need to put in a much better shift for United to go through.

Marouane Fellaini (CM)

The Belgian missed out on the Arsenal game due to a suspension. Owing to his freshness, Mourinho will look to field him in the middle of the park.

Ander Herrera (CM)

The Spaniard will sit as the deepest of the three midfielders and look to make things happen, while also shielding his backline.

Paul Pogba (CM)

Pogba was another of the many players who were benched on Sunday. He may not have had the best of the seasons, but is still a key member as he drives the team forward from midfield. Should return to the XI.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (RW)

The former Borussia Dortmund man hasn’t been able to shine consistently for United this season. But he has the ability to open up the opposition and will be key for United’s chances to reach the final.

Marcus Rashford (ST)

Has taken over the goal-scoring onus since Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s injury and has done an excellent job. Having scored in the first leg, he would want to keep going on Thursday as well.

Anthony Martial (LW)

Showed sparks of brilliance against Arsenal. Mourinho should persist with the youngster as he has the ability to change the game in one moment of magic.
