Man Utd’s £200,000-a-week ace vs this Chelsea star: Stats show surprising results as to who has performed better

Stats Showdown: Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham vs Man Utd’s Marcus Rashford

Even though Machester United’s Marcus Rashford and Chelsea’s Tammy Abhram are of the same age, the former seems to look older after five seasons in the Premier League whereas Abraham has had just one season with Swansea and now, this term with the Blues.

Abraham scored 25 goals for Aston Villa in the Championship last season and has shown improvement. Rashford scored 10 goals in the Premier League last season and has had a fairly sluggish start. Tammy, on the other hand, has been banging in the goals this season.

Tammy Abraham

Abraham is just two goals far from Rashford’s best Premier League tally (10). He is currently the Premier League’s joint top-scorer alongside Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero while Rashford has found the back of the net just four times.

If we look at the stats of this season, including games for both club and country, Abraham has earned his bragging rights over Rashford. The Blues youngster has scored 12 goals in 17 matches while his counterpart has gone past the goalkeeper just seven times in 15 appearances. However, Rashford set up his teammates twice compared to Abraham’s nil.

Abraham has already scored a hat-trick for the Blues and found the back of the net twice two times this season while Rashford scored his only brace when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men beat Chelsea 4-0 in their Premier League opener.

Even though Abraham has featured in more games, Rashford has played more minutes this season. Abraham has played just 63 per cent while Rashford has spent 80 per cent of his time on the pitch.

Marcus Rashford

Both youngsters have completed 70 per cent of their passes. Abraham slightly edges past Rashford for shots per game – he has 3.27 to Rashford’s 3.22.

However, Abraham has a way better conversion rate than Rashford. He takes just four shots per goal while Rashford has taken 7.25 shots for scoring each goal this season. Also, Abraham has taken just 81 minutes to score a goal as compared to Rashford’s 154.

For England, Abraham has made just one senior-team appearance and he failed to produce any goal or assist. He has scored four goals in his nine appearances for England U23 in the UEFA Euro U23.

Meanwhile, Rashford has found the back of the net just once in his four appearances in the Euro 2020 qualifiers.

Thus, it is evident to see that Abraham has outperformed Rashford in nearly every department.
