Another big match for Liverpool as they face the North London side at Anfield. However confidence must be low after that 3-0 defeat to Manchester United and Brendan Rodgers must know that his side must react against an Arsenal side which is finally finding some form. Arsene Wenger has his own problems though as the injury problems just won’t leave Arsenal, which means that Mon. Wenger must assess who is available and send a team from there to avenge the 5-1 thrashing from last season.
Goalkeeper: Wojciech Szczesny
The Pole will be in goal once again for Arsenal as they face the side which put five past them the last time the two sides met at the Anfield. Will the man in goal from last time do better this time around?
Defence: Calum Chambers, Mathieu Debuchy, Per Mertesacker, Kieran Gibbs
The big team news defensively is that the Frenchman Laurent Koscielny will not be featuring in this match which means that Mathieu Debuchy will be asked once again to fill in at the position of centre back alongside Per Mertesacker. Liverpool away will definitely be a bigger test for the Frenchman that what Newcastle United at home ultimately proved to be.
Kieran Gibbs will be starting at left back and with Nacho Monreal a long term injury casualty, Arsene Wenger will be hoping that Kieran Gibbs passes the match unscathed. Calum Chambers will return in the right back slot after having served the one match suspension against the Magpies.
Midfield: Mathieu Flamini, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Santi Cazorla
There are some concerns that Francis Coquelin might be given his first Arsenal start this season if Alex Oxlade Chamberlain fails to recover in time. We are of the opinion, however, that the Ox will recover in time to make the starting lineup. Mathieu Flamini will be the deepest lying midfielder protecting the fragile back four with Alex Oxlade Chamberlain playing besides him but given a more advanced role in midfield.
Finally Santi Cazorla, seems to have found some form in the Premier League after scoring 3 goals in the last 2 matches and will be the most advanced of all the Arsenal midfielders.
Forward: Danny Welbeck, Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez
With the lightweight look that Arsenal has in defence, there cannot be any doubt that attack is the best form of defence. In such a scenario Olivier Giroud will be the main focal point of the Arsenal attack with Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck assisting him from the flanks.
