Strongest Liverpool XI To Face Swansea City: Young Guns To Start Again

After a disappointing 2-2 draw at Anfield in their last fixture, Klopp’s men will be traveling to Liberty Stadium to face the struggling Swansea side.

Liverpool enjoyed some great results recently, but were held by the Magpies in the last game. Swansea City, on the other hand, had a frustrating game against Leicester as they were humiliated by a massive scoreline of 4 goals to nil at King Power Stadium in their last fixture. Both the teams will be looking to bounce back in the league and will be looking forward to grab a win.

Looking at the club’s previous records, Liverpool have won 3 of their last 6 games and have lost once. Furthermore, Swansea have won 2 of their last 6 games and have lost thrice.

Some Stats-

Swansea City have won just one of their nine Barclays Premier League meetings with Liverpool (W1 D3 L5)

Daniel Sturridge has scored four goals in four Premier League starts for Liverpool against Swansea.

Swansea City’s last five Premier League home wins have all been by a 1-0 scoreline.

Liverpool have scored 17 goals in their last six Premier League away games.

Swansea didn’t manage a single shot on target when they visited Anfield back in November, losing 0-1.

Predicted Lineup for Liverpool that could face Swansea City at Liberty Stadium-

Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet-

Klopp has an option for this position in the form of Danny Ward, but he might go for the Belgian. He hasn’t been that impressive lately and his horrendous mistake cost the team some points in their last fixture. A debatable position for the next game, but I think Klopp is well aware of the fact that Gomis is a threat who could test the goalkeeper number of times in the game.

Defenders: Clyne; Toure; Lovren; Moreno-

Clyne might start in the next game for the side as he is the number one choice for the German manager for this position. Klopp might go with a duo of Toure and Lovren this time and both the center backs will have to be strong as they will be facing an attacking trio of Gomis, Sigurdsson and Routledge. Moreno might keep his place in the next game and is a great offensive full-back for the club, but he needs to contribute more in defending.

Midfielders: Jordan Ibe; Allen; Firmino; Milner; Ojo-

Klopp might  deploy the young guns of Liverpool academy on the wings. Both Ibe and Ojo did a fantastic job against Bournemouth where they tormented their defence with their pace and their movements. Joe Allen might play as a deep-lying midfielder alongside Milner who will contribute to the team both defensively and offensively. Klopp might use Firmino as an attacking midfielder, but to be honest, he hasn’t been able to shine in the Liverpool shirt till date.

Striker: Sturridge-

He might acquire his usual position as Origi is out injured and Klopp doesn’t really favour Benteke anymore. Sturridge provides a different dimension to Liverpool’s attack and combines well with his teammates.
