Why This 60m Real Madrid Star Should Not Move To Manchester United?

With Real Madrid on the verge of extending Cristiano Ronaldo’s stay at the club for a few more years, they seem to be ready to offload another star and rather surprisingly it is James Rodriguez. The Colombian hasn’t had the best season this year for Los Galacticos and he seems to be a prime target for Manchester United.

The Old Trafford club haven’t had the best season themselves and are set to play in the Europa League next season and James could well be the player who could turn their season around after the Copa America and Euros are completed.

Manchester United have missed that cutting edge in attack and playing James right behind the likes of Anthony Martial or Marcus Rashford could be the key to getting that old playing style that the Red Devils were known for back again.

There is just one big problem in all this and that is Louis van Gaal at the club. The Dutch manager has been able to suck out the life of the club and more often than not, he has been the problem with regards to the playing style that Manchester United has taken up since he arrived.

United bore teams and if James does sign for the club, the attacking impetus would fall on him. The Colombian star should steer clear of the move and instead should think about fighting for his place in the Spanish side.

Manchester United might give him more playing time, but as with the case of Angel Di Maria, who also signed for Manchester United, but had a horrible time in England. James is a player who will thrive with quality around him and United do not have that at all. The English side do not have enough attacking players who can support Rodriguez.

The other issue being that Manchester United aren’t close to winning a title in their current form or with the pool of players they have but Real Madrid on the other hand, have one of the best squads in the world and they will win something under Zinedine Zidane next season if not this year.

Real Madrid’s playing style is also way different compared to Manchester United and the lack of Champions League football could make the decision for the Colombian as playing at the top level has to be his aim season after season.

Rodriguez might have only scored nine goals all season for the Madrid club, but Manchester United would love to have him in their side. The Colombian though shouldn’t move just for money but also should think about his future and he has a bright one at Madrid, at least for the time being.
