Superb Barkley, Impressive Rudiger – Here’s how the Chelsea stars fared in the 4-0 thrashing of Burnley

Chelsea Player Ratings vs Burnley: Here’s how the Blues fared

After making a nervy start to the game, Chelsea turned on the style against Burnley and eventually ran out 4-0 winners at the Turf Moor. Burnley threatened early on but the Blues soaked in all the pressure before Ross Barkley sent through Alvaro Morata on goal with the Spaniard duly slotting the ball into the back of the net.

Barkley then turned from a provider to a goal-scorer to score a sumptuous effort from outside the box. Willian then added a third goal from outside the box to make it three goals for the Blues. Substitute Ruben Loftus-Cheek then came on to add the icing on the cake with a fourth and final goal.

Chelsea Player Ratings

Kepa Arrizabalaga (6/10)

The Spaniard had a couple of nervy moments at the back and missed one or two punched clearances.

Cesar Azpilicueta (7/10)

Defensively neat and tidy. He also supplied one or two dangerous crosses into the box.

Antonio Rudiger (8/10)

Another dominant performance from the German centre-back who is proving to be a vital cog in this Chelsea side. He was comfortable under pressure and kept it simple.

David Luiz (7/10)

Made a number of headed clearances but gave away one or two needless fouls.

Marcos Alonso (6/10)

Not the best performance from Alonso who didn’t have much defending to do, but he did pick up the assist for the final goal.

N’Golo Kante (7/10)

A typical Kante performance. The Frenchman moved the ball quickly and tracked back relentlessly. However, he failed to make an impact going forward.

Swiftly shifted the transition for Chelsea and distributed well in the middle of the park.

Ross Barkley (8/10)

Barkley is now showing signs of his old self. The English midfielder scored a superb goal and looked lively all evening. He picked up two good assists as well.

Ross Barkley

Pedro (4/10)

Unfortunate to get subbed out early due to an injury.

Alvaro Morata (7/10)

A much better performance from the Spaniard who has come under a lot of criticism this season. The goal should give him some confidence.

Willian (7/10)

Despite picking up a yellow card due to a dive, Willian looked lively throughout and his passing was sublime. He created a number of chances and scored to cap an impressive performance.

Substitutes

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (7/10)

Came on and looked confident in possession. Scored the final goal to hand Sarri a major selection headache for next week.

Olivier Giroud (6/10)

Almost scored with his first few touches of the game, only for the shot to go wide.
