Superb Hugill, Impressive Friend – The best & the worst rated Middlesbrough stars in their 2-0 win vs Wigan

Middlesbrough Player Ratings vs Wigan: Here’s how Boro fared

Middlesbrough eased past Wigan Athletic to a routine 2-0 win, thanks to a brace from Jordan Hugill, sending Tony Pulis’ men back to second spot in the Championship. The striker scored both the goals in the first half, in the space of six minutes to take the game away from the Latics.

Hugill opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Cedric Kipre brought down George Friend in the penalty area. The 26-year-old then netted from a conventional headed effort, from a delicious Martin Braithwaite cross. After the break, it was all about consolidation for the home team, and they shut down the opponents to claim a rather comfortable win.
