The £38m Deal That Manchester United Should Do This Summer

So next season Manchester United will not be managed by Sir Alex Ferguson anymore, David Moyes will take charge of proceedings at the Old Trafford stadium.  Now let us not kid ourselves and delve into thinking that David Moyes is parallel to Alex Ferguson. Well, at least as of now, he is not. So the brilliant results that Ferguson produced even with such a mediocre team, would be hard for Moyes to replicate with this team.

Thus we can be rest assured that Moyes would be going in for some big names and try to bring them to United in summer. The one area that United has had problem throughout this season is the midfield. Their midfield had lacked the punch and the creativity which is trademarked by any top sides in the world.

Therefore Moyes must look to sign a couple of high profile midfielders to suit the team and be at par with the other competitors in Premier League. One player that may change the complexion of this timid United midfield totally and rejuvenate them with new life is Juventus player Arturo Vidal.

He has been linked to United for a long time and Sir Alex Ferguson had reportedly set eyes on him for a long time. He has been brilliant throughout the season for the Seria A champions and the trio of Marchiso-Vidal-Pirlo had run riot through the opponent’s defences. He is a complete midfielder, with few in the world to match him. He is as good in defence as he is in the front, scoring more than 10 goals in the seasons. His partnerships have been brilliant with Pirlo and so have been his crossings.

United, whose wingers have disappointed largely this season, can use the kind of a player alongside Carrick and he may provide the kind of rigidity in the midfield that the team have been lacking. He averages more than 5.4 successful tackles per game for the Italian side and that may be a huge boost for the EPL Champions.

His work rate is commendable and no player in the pitch matches the kind of physicality that he brings into the game.
But he would not come easy and any bid less than £35m should be turned down. Moreover, he has stated that he is really happy at Turin and sees his future there. Thus if Moyes wants to bring this player to United, he has to pull some strings and that too fast enough for someone else not to snatch him from under his nose.
