Forget Cedric – Southampton acquiring this pacy Argentine star would be a terrific step by Hasenhuttl

Southampton Opinions: Renzo Saravia acquisition will be huge for Saints

Southampton, quite possibly due to dumb luck, are currently two points clear of the relegation zone but they have spent a lot of time in the red zone, making things a bit too tight for comfort.

They find themselves at 17th place and with only 9 games of the season left to play, all the teams will be hoping to showcase a final push that would ensure them Premier League action next season.

They are a side that have been renowned for bringing up some of the best talents including the likes of Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana – both of whom Liverpool fans can vouch for.

Since the arrival of new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, the vibes around St.Mary’s have become a lot less tense and there is an air of confidence around the stadium now that this group of talented players, under the guidance of a proven manager, can pull off a miracle.

With players like Nathan Redmond coming into form at the perfect time for the Saints, there is a very high chance that they will be playing Premier League football next season as well.

If there is one factor that affected them quite badly during the winter window, then it was the unexpected loan move of Portuguese right-back Cedric Soares.

Given their circumstances, a move for Racing Club right-back Renzo Saravia will be a very smart and rather pocket-friendly piece of business from the Saints manager.

A pacy wing-back, the 25-year-old is currently on loan at Racing Club from Belgrano and has played 18 times for the Argentine league leaders. His movement and pace down the flank are feared in that part of the world, while his composure is commendable too.

He has represented Argentina 3 times since making his debut in September last year and he has made quite a lot of progress since then. His development speed could multiply at Southampton and Hasenhuttl must make a move for this talented Argentine in the summer.
