This Austrian dribbler is the perfect man to provide back-up to Norwich City’s wingers – Here is why Daniel Farke should sign him in the summer

Norwich City Opinion: Norwich getting Stefan Savic can be a masterstroke

Norwich City are doing extremely well in the Championship and despite constant nagging pressure from the aggressive chasing pack, they have looked comfortable over the last month.

Although their lead could topple in a single gameweek, that doesn’t look to be on the cards anytime soon.

In their last fixture against high-flying Bristol City, Norwich showed great resilience and character to go from being 2-1 down at half-time to come back storming in the 2nd half to beat them 3-2 at Carrow Road.

The Canaries have looked assured almost every time they’ve stepped on the pitch this season and have done well to get to this position, given the alarming lack of squad depth at Daniel Farke’s disposal.

Although they are well covered in defence, they have been quite dependent on Teemu Pukki’s goals this season. Despite telling contributions from players like Mario Vrancic and Onel Hernandez, more goals from the midfield positions could take Norwich to the next level.

If there is one position that Farke needs to think about strengthening, it’s the wings. Although Todd Cantwell has been used on certain occasions this season, at just 21, he isn’t really a dependable option for the manager.

Their only real options on the flank include summer signing Emiliano Buendia and 26-year-old Onel Hernandez. Although they have both performed satisfactorily well this season, some reinforcements would certainly help them provide better output by countering fatigue.

Daniel Farke should be looking at wallet-friendly options to provide back-up to his wingers as the possibility of going into Premier League football next season with just two options is one he must avoid.

Stefan Savic of Slovenian outfit NK Olimpija is a talented Austrian left-winger who has been extremely good for his club in their local league this season. His return of 5 goals and 3 assists from his 19 league appearances heavily downplay his level of involvement.

His movement on the ball is spectacular while his dribbling ability has the potential to trouble the English defenders. Using his quick feet and sharp acceleration, he gets into good positions inside the box from where he usually doesn’t miss the target.

His elusiveness and trickery can offer a different option to Farke, who will need all the help to make it to the top-flight next season. This move would be extremely shrewd by the Canaries as he would be a smart signing who could come for a fairly low price as well.
