Go for it Rafa – This talented 20-year-old Brazilian could be the key to Newcastle’s successful future

Newcastle United Opinions: Pedro can rejuvenate this Magpies attack

Newcastle United’s season has seen many ups and downs in terms of injury and momentum as Rafa Benitez’s side have really struggled to get a run of games going for them because of various factors.

While there have been some positives, Magpies fans have gone through some extremely worrying times over the course of the season because of some poor performances in relatively easier matches.

Not everything has been dark at St.James’ Park though as they were able to pull off a memorable victory over league leaders Manchester City which would’ve certainly filled the Magpies players with tons of confidence.

After that impressive win against City, Newcastle have only lost 2 times in the last 4 games and they’ve won 3 of them, which is a very impressive record. This sudden form has seen them climb up to a very respectable place, with the top half of the table just few points away.

There have been multiple positives along the course of the season too though and one of the biggest and most motivating signs for Magpies supporters will be the rise of midfielders Issac Hayden and Sean Longstaff.

The two brilliant talents have been sublime in the middle of the park for Newcastle.

Rafa Benitez was forced to turn to his youngsters earlier in the season but has since stuck with them due to their highly impressive displays. Also, the January signing of Miguel Almiron has also been an inspired move as he seems to have fit into the English game very well.

One of their main causes for concern is in the goalscoring department and West Brom loanee Salomon Rondon, although he is showcasing some decent form now, hasn’t been able to deliver consistently. Also, his return to the Hawthorns at the end of the season could come as a huge blow to Benitez.

The purchase of an alternative is the best option for the Toon and they should target Fluminense striker Pedro, who has been in fine form in the Serie A this season. He has scored 12 goals from his 37 league games and has also pitched in with a couple of assists.

At just 21, he shows the intelligence of a seasoned professional and despite his large figure, he also showcases sublime mobility. He gets around the pitch with ease and is as good at finishing with his head as he is with his feet.

Conclusion

Pedro’s awareness of the defender’s positioning and possible avenues in behind make him a predator in the box and that’s exactly the kind of play that Newcastle need.

With the likes of Almiron and Ayoze Perez for support, the Brazilian would have no trouble fitting in and could prosper in England right from the off.
