This highly-rated Napoli starlet would be a perfect fit in this Wolves team and Nuno Santo should get him

Wolves opinion: Should Nuno Santo reignite interest in Amadou Diawara?

Football Italia reported in January that Wolverhampton Wanderers, along with Fiorentina, were interested in Napoli’s Amadou Diawara.

The Guinean midfielder has been out of favour at Napoli having started just 8 games in the Serie A and the report revealed then that he would be available for €35million.

However, the fee could go down considerably due to the fact that Diawara started just one league game before an injury ruled him out for the rest of the season. Wolves should reignite their interest in the highly-rated 21-year-old as they prepare for another long season.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have booked their place in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League, which is a massive achievement, especially in their first season back in the Premier League.

However, the competition will start at least three weeks before the start of the league, which is sure to take its toll on the players.

Wolves had the thinnest squad in the Premier League this season, with just 20 players. The Wanderers cannot afford to gamble on such a small squad with a potentially long Europa League campaign coming up.

Nuno Santo has witnessed a live example in Burnley who almost went down due to their players burning out after the early start to the season.

Wolves should seriously address the issue with their thin squad by bringing in players who are capable of having an impact both in England and in Europe.

Amadou Diawara would be a phenomenal addition to the Wolves squad and the 21-year-old has shown immense promise in the middle of the park over the last two years. The Guinean has never really settled down at Napoli and has found himself out of the team on a consistent basis.

Diawara should consider a move to get regular playing time and the Wolves midfield should seem highly appealing. Joao Moutinho, at 33 years of age, has been brilliant this season but he is in the twilight of his career.

The veteran Portuguese international will need a suitable replacement before he leaves and Diawara would be an ideal candidate. The youngster is a brilliantly balanced midfielder and is capable of having a positive impact both in the attack and in defence.

Diawara thrives a physical challenge and he would perfectly fit the Premier League.

The 21-year-old has the potential to be one of the best players in the world in the coming years and the Molineux is the perfect place for him to continue his development next season.
