This Liverpool outcast would reach his potential and regain his mojo by moving to any of these two clubs – Agreed?

Liverpool Opinion: These 2 clubs can go to the next level by signing Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge is a Manchester City academy product who was signed by Chelsea back in 2009. He was seen to be a prodigious English striker who had the ability to build up play and also finish when the chance presents itself.

Although he didn’t really win over the hearts of Chelsea fans, he made 96 appearances in a Blues shirt while scoring 24 and assisting another 10. His contribution at Chelsea was meaningful but it was at Bolton on loan that he really shone.

After an impressive couple of years which also included a Champions League triumph with Chelsea, he was eventually sold to rivals Liverpool as they looked for a striker to partner the brilliant Uruguayan Luis Suarez.

Over time, he dropped out of favour and while he is still given some game time by Jurgen Klopp, his ability on the ball and that poachers instinct is something that many of the other Premier League clubs would do anything for.

Given the circumstances, Birmingham Live have reported that Sturridge is going to be on his way out of the club on a free transfer come the end of the current Premier League season. With this in mind, here are two clubs who should make a summer move for the experienced English striker.

Daniel Sturridge

Crystal Palace

Roy Hodgson’s squad is full of top quality players who are capable of fighting for Europe given the right kind of conditions. They have a strong midfield that is commanded by Luka Milevojevic and willing runners on either side in Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend.

They have lacked a dynamic forward and given Sturridge’s ability to carry the ball and finish from distances, he could the perfect player to complement the Eagles’ playing style. He can create an excellent relationship with fellow Englishmen Townsend and Zaha to create what could be a deadly partnership for next season.

Brighton and Hove Albion

The Seagulls’ main striker is 35-year-old Glenn Murray and while he does score goals on a fairly consistent basis, depending on a player of that age to be the first choice striker for the duration of an entire season is a silly prospect at best.

With Jurgen Locadia playing the wide role, Daniel Sturridge could slot perfectly into the central striker’s role at the Amex. His movement and timed runs in behind will certainly help the likes of Anthony Knockaert and Alireza Jahanbakhsh prosper as well.
