Three managers who Could do a Better Job than Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool

If there ever was any manager who was under pressure to perform this season it had to be Brendan Rodgers. The Liverpool manager couldn’t replicate the great season the club had a couple of years ago as Liverpool slumped to a sixth place finish in the league, they couldn’t do anything great in the Champions League either. In spite of all this FSG have backed him and allowed him to spend money to get the team back on track, of course this was offset by the sale of Raheem Sterling to Manchester City.

Brendan Rodgers has not delivered so far this season as well, the team look disjointed and uninterested in games. They do not have a proper game plan apart from hoofing it up to Christian Benteke and if this continues, Liverpool might be facing a tall task to get into European competition again. We look at a few manager replacements for Rodgers who could do a better job than the Northern Irishman.

Jurgen Klopp

The man who is widely tipped to take over from Rodgers, Klopp is the man who wrestled the Bundesliga crown away from the grasp of Bayern Munich. Klopp has a great record in the Bundesliga but has been without a club since he walked away from Borussia Dortmund at the end of last season. He needed to recharge his batteries and has stated recently that he would manage a club which is not at the top of their game. Klopp could bring the passion and determination missing from Liverpool’s game back and he would be a great option for Rodgers, whose time could be coming to a close at Liverpool.

Carlo Ancelotti

The Italian is one of the most successful managers in the game of football and is the man who brought Real Madrid their elusive 10th European Cup. Ancelotti wouldn’t be a new manager in the Premier League, having coached Chelsea earlier and he had led them to a FA Cup and League double before getting the boot from Roman Abramovich. Carlo would be a great option for Liverpool especially for his tactical know-how and longevity in the game. He might not be someone who fits the FSG policy of bringing in someone who is young but he certainly can do a good job at any club.

Diego Simeone

‘Cholo’ as he is popularly called, the manager of Atletico Madrid might not be a frontrunner for the job, but he certainly would be one person who could bring toughness to Liverpool. Simeone helped Atletico win the La Liga title and has made them a force in La Liga despite not having the finances to battle Barcelona and Real Madrid. Cholo would get the team to play effective football but it certainly would not be pretty but winning is something that Liverpool fans would take up right now.
