More Transfers – Three Players Everton Should Look To Sign Before The Deadline Day

Everton have been one of the most active clubs in the Premier League this summer. The Toffees have brought in a number of players in the ongoing transfer window, with the likes of Jordan Pickford, Davy Klaassen, Henry Onyekuru, Wayne Rooney and Michael Keane all arriving at the Goodison Park so far.

They have had a long-standing interest in Swansea City playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson and manager Ronald Koeman has revealed now, that the deal is close to being completed. But, the Dutch manager seems intent on adding more numbers to his squad and has revealed that he wants to bring in three more players before the deadline day.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the manager said:

“Everybody knows we are looking for three more players – a left centre-back, a left full-back, a player who can play out of both positions, a winger and a striker and that’s the picture, what the best is for our team and we will see what we can do.”

With the manager keen on adding three more faces to the squad, here we take a look at three players that they should target in the specific areas that Koeman wants to improve.

Wayne Rooney

Keita Balde Diao (Lazio)

The 22-year old Lazio forward had been pursued by fellow Premier League outfit West Ham United, but no move has materialised. Everton should look to act fast in order to sign him, as he fits the profile of the player that Koeman wants – a striker/winger.

Keita Balde had a very good season with Lazio, finishing with a tally of 16 goals and 5 assists from 31 outings in the Serie A, contributing to a goal every 92 minutes. The former Barcelona youth academy starlet primarily operated on the left flank last time around but can play as a lone centre-forward, and also as an auxiliary striker behind a target man. Brilliant dribbler, good passer and with a keen eye for a goal, he could turn this Everton attack into a more potent force and should be looked at by Koeman.

Riza Durmisi (Real Betis)

The 23-year old left-back from Real Betis had a fairly strong season for the La Liga side last year and had attracted interest from the likes of Liverpool in January.

Durmisi finished the 2016/17 campaign with a solitary goal and 4 assists in 29 appearances for Betis, in what was his first season with the club after joining from Danish side Brondy last summer. The diminutinve Danish defender has operated as a wing-back as well on occasions and put in good performances. Fast, a very good dribbler and a crosser of the ball with strong technical abilities, Durmisi can prove to be an exciting attacking outlet down the left-hand side for Everton. Given that he is just 23, he could turn out to be a long-term heir for Leighton Baines.

Bruno Martins Indi (FC Porto)

The big man from Netherlands is someone Koeman will have known and seen of plenty, having managed him at Feyenoord before. He should consider taking Indi under his wings at Everton too.

Martins Indi is a proven performer at club level and on the international stages, and is just 25 years of age, indicating that he has his best years ahead of him. Last season, he spent his time on loan with Premier League club Stoke City and was one of their better players. He made 37 appearances for the Potters in all competitions, scoring once. Tall, strong, and a good ball-playing defender with experience in the Premier League, Martins Indi can play as a left-back as well, ticking all boxes for Everton and Koeman.
