Three Underrated Players Chelsea Should Look To Sign Including This Midfielder From London Rivals

Chelsea are cruising in the Premier League this season. Having won 9 games in a row since October in the Premier League, the Blues are on top of the Premier League and have become firm favourites to win the league this season. Antonio Conte has managed to turn it around at Stamford Bridge after a poor last season at many levels.

But titles are always won with strong squads and it would not be a bad thing for Antonio Conte to bring in some reinforcements. And keeping in that in view, we take a look at three underrated players who could make it big at Stamford Bridge if they are signed:

Cheikhou Kouyate

The Senegal international, 26, arrived at West Ham from Anderlecht in 2014 and has transitioned into Premier League football with ease and has won a lot of hearts with his athleticism and energy in the middle of the park.

A midfielder by trade, Kouyate has filled in at centre-back and hasn’t missed a beat in his new role. Adept at breaking up plays, he can chip in with the occasional goal as well. With his solid performances this season in defence, he has proved his value not only in midfield but also in the heart of the defence. Kouyate is a highly capable personnel, versatile and an underrated player in the West Ham squad and he could be an excellent option for Chelsea to have.

Michael Keane

Michael Keane has been at the heart of Burnley’s decent run this season. The 23-year old has been one of the best defenders in the league this term but hasn’t received the plaudits he deserves.

The ex-Manchester United player has really shone under Sean Dyche, having made 134 clearances, fourth highest in the league and has been top notch alongside Ben Mee. His displays have earned his first national call-up. With his no-nonsense approach to defending and his reading of the game and his awareness, he could be a very good fit at Stamford Bridge.

Harry Arter

Bournemouth are enjoying a decent run of form in the Premier League this season and one man who has been at the centre of it all is Harry Arter. He has featured in all Premier League games for the Cherries this season and has been the beating heart for them in the middle of the park.

Having come to the Premier League via non-league sides like Staines Town, Welling United and Woking, the Republic of Ireland star has hit peak form. The 26-year old has so far created 11 chances for Bournemouth and also has 2 assists. Having made 586 passes with an accuracy of 86%, he has shown his capabilities with the ball at his feet. His energy is exceptional, to say the least, and he is an integral part of Eddie Howe’s team. His presence in Chelsea midfield could provide them an impetus going forward.
