Top 2 Players Hughton Could Sign In January To Continue Brighton’s Impressive Form Including This Liverpool Ace

Brighton boss Chris Hughton

Two Players Chris Hughton Can Target In January To Strengthen Brighton

Brighton have made an excellent start to the new Premier League season under manager Chris Hughton. Despite being a newly-promoted side, the club have taken the Premier League by storm and are currently gracing the 9th spot in the league table. They are more than capable of sealing a top 10 finish and judging from how they’ve been performing so far, they can even harness hopes of a higher position come the end of the season.

They are currently 5 points behind 8th placed Watford and were recently subjected to a loss against Manchester United. That said, their next game is against Liverpool and the club will look to secure 3 points to advance further.

Hughton has truly managed to bring the best out of the team and what makes it all the more commendable is the fact that he has managed to do so without adding any big names to the squad. There’s a different kind of passion and power that emerges from a club like that and Brighton are truly on the right path.

That said, Brighton will have a tougher road ahead. The fixtures and challenges will only get more intense and although their current team itself is quite strong, they could use some reinforcements in the days to come. With that in mind, here are two players Brighton could consider signing in January.

Dominic Solanke – Liverpool

A loan move for Solanke could prove beneficial for all parties involved. Jurgen Klopp seems to have no room for the former Chelsea youngster in his squad and that is not doing anything for the player to improve his trade. For that, he needs to join a club where he can secure regular playing time and he can do so at Brighton. Currently, the Seagulls only have Izzy Brown on loan from Chelsea but a player like Solanke could most certainly boost their attacking options up front.

Afriyie Acquah – Torino

One area that Brighton could truly strengthen in January is their midfield and Acquah is earning rave reviews for his performances in the middle of the park for Torino. Adept at scoring goals and contributing to the attack, Acquah does not forego his defensive responsibilities, which makes him quite an interesting player.

Despite his talent, the player is struggling to come for regular minutes on the field, which could tempt him to complete the switch to join Brighton in January. As of now, Dale Stephens and Davy Propper are the strongest options Hughton has in the central midfield area and Acquah could certainly be a valuable addition.
