Top 3 Players Linked With Liverpool This Week

Liverpool fans should be hopeful for a better Premier League campaign next year as the promises shown by Brendan Rodgers are impressive. He has improved the team a lot in their mentality and on-field display. Rodgers must have also learnt from his experience last summer when he failed to bring Clint Dempsey to the club, ending up with only Suarez as the lone striker till January. This time around he is making his moves quite early and monitoring his targets even before the start of the transfer window. Therefore new names are frequently coming up who are being assessed by Liverpool for a probable move to the Merseyside in the summer. Some of the new names that Liverpool have been linked with are as follows.

Albiol joined Madrid in 2009
Is Albiol the perfect replacement for Carra?

Micah Richards

The Manchester City defender has fallen out of favour and subsequently out of the team for his injury problems and the form of Pablo Zabaleta. But there is no denying of his great potential at the age of just 24, which leaves with further opportunity to improve. Liverpool, who need to reorganise their defence big time in the summer, have been making considerable moves for him, but the £15m price tag is being seen as a hindrance.

Jackson Martinez

Although it looks now that Suarez is going to stay with the Reds, but Liverpool cannot be taken in for a surprise should the Uruguayan makes a move to Bayern Munich or Atletico Madrid. This is the primary reason Liverpool have been keeping an eye on Porto’s Jackson Martinez, who has raked in 25 goals from 27 appearances this season. He was also linked to Liverpool the previous season but Porto was fast to act and thus achieved his signing. But he will cost Liverpool around £40m, the money which they can gather with the transfer of Suarez.

Raul Albiol

The Real Madrid centre back has been under Rodgers’ observation and a reported bid is being lined up for him. His gametime at Madrid has been very limited prompting him to look for a move away and with Liverpool in imminent need for a centre back to replace Carragher, Albiol may be the ideal man. He has featured in Spain’s World Cup winning campaign in 2010, raking him with loads of experience, but his price may be seem a factor against the proposed transfer.
