The Arsenal youngster was a welcome addition to the team and was excellent as he recorded five successful tackles and a 100% success rate in aerial duels and take-ons. Arsenal fans will be thanking their stars that he played in the game as he was a major doubt, just shows how important he has become to the Arsenal team.

Sadio Mane

The star from Southampton who seems to be getting all the plaudits for his attacking ability was brilliant in defence also, he scored for Southampton, but he did his bit to cut Chelsea down as well. Mane notched up five successful tackles and had four successful take-ons as well as he keeps playing in fifth gear for the Saints.

Billy Jones

Sunderland are having a poor season, there are no two ways about it and after losing their manager this weekend, they could do with some good news. Jones was one of the better defenders on display from a team that lack that ability. Jones recorded six successful tackles in the game, had a 100% success rate in take-ons and also recorded a 50% success rate in winning aerial duels against the opposition. Maybe Sunderland can take this to push on and improve this season under a new manager.

The Brazilian is the only defensive midfielder that Liverpool have and he has always looked good for them but has never been able to hit the heights after his ACL injury a few seasons ago. Lucas though was brilliant against Everton and recorded six successful tackles, 50% successful take-ons and aerial duel wins. The Brazilian might not have been on the winning side, but he was one of the better players from the Liverpool side.

James McCarthy

The Everton midfielder has gotten rave reviews over his years at the club. The 24-year-old Irish midfielder was excellent in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool and had six successful tackles in the game. He also recorded a 100% success rate in take-ons as he helped Everton draw against their great rivals.
