West Ham United 3-0 Southampton: Hammers Pile Up The Pressure On Saints With An Easy Victory

West Ham United sailed to an emphatic 3-0 win against Southampton and David Moyes’ men certainly fought valiantly to secure all 3 points. Joao Mario scored the opening goal which was followed by Marko Arnautovic’s wonder strike. From there on, it was a game of cat-and-mouse between the two sides. Arnautovic then scored another stunning goal right before half-time.

Although the Saints looked threatening at times, the Hammers held them off and this win will solidify their position in the Premier League for sure.

Hart did not have much to do initially but he made some important contributions as the game wore on. The clean sheet will boost his confidence.

Zabaleta kept Dusan Tadic at bay and was a solid presence for the Hammers.

Rice made some important tackles and did not commit a single error throughout the game which is truly commendable for the centre-back.

Ogbonna effortlessly dealt with Gabbiadini and put in an encouraging display at the heart of the defence along with Rice.

Cresswell put in a solid shift. Stuck to his basics.

Arthur Masuaku – 8/10

Back after a six-match ban but it didn’t feel like he was sidelined at all. Brought in some much-needed dynamism and energy on the left-hand side and delivered a balanced performance.

Solid yet reassuring, Noble established control in the midfield and worked his magic for the Hammers.

Cheikhou Kouyate – 8.5/10

Kouyate was involved in the first two goals and kept working tirelessly to make things happen. He dominated his counterparts after the break and it was a fine performance from him overall.

Scored the opening goal brilliantly and it is safe to say that it was one of his better displays in a West Ham jersey.

He put up a promising display initially but a hamstring injury saw him exit the field in tears.

Arnautovic’s energy levels were high throughout the game and he will be happy about the brace.
