Why Tottenham Should Sign This Spanird Ahead Of Arsenal

Tottenham seem set to battle against their London rivals Arsenal in a bid to sign one of the hottest Championship properties, Ayoze Perez. We all know that Perez did actually play a lot of Premier League football last season and with Newcastle getting relegated, it could be time for the Magpies to cash in on a player that might want to leave the club as soon as possible.

The 22-year-old striker was one of the few bright spots for Newcastle’s season last time around and he would be a great asset to have for either Arsenal or Tottenham, whichever club can bag him first but Spurs should be the one side trying desperately to sign the talented Spaniard simply because they can offer him regular first team chances, at least more than Arsenal can.

The Gunners already have a big enough squad with a lot of talent and the Newcastle winger could end up getting lost behind the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and even Alex Iwobi, who was an incredible star for the side in the final few matches of the league.

Tottenham don’t really have a lot of quality out wide apart from Christian Eriksen. Erik Lamela was a good player last time around but he is extremely inconsistent and having someone like Perez on the bench could provide a lot of competition to the other players and move them into another gear as they look to cement their place in the Spurs side.

Perez can even play behind the striker or as a main striker and that could solve the Tottenham conundrum of not having a player who could start in place of Harry Kane next season. Mauricio Pochettino is known to like players who can play a range of positions and this would certainly be the proper bill that Perez fits.

Spurs only have the aforementioned wingers as their out and out wide men, Nacer Chadli and Son Heung Min haven’t been able to cement their places in the side and could be two stars that do leave the club and that could mean more chances for Perez as he goes about strutting his stuff at the Lane.

Signing the Newcastle man would also show that Tottenham mean business in the transfer market and instead of trying to bring in players from other leagues, Spurs should clinch the deal for him asap since he knows the league well and can hit the ground running.
