Tottenham signing this promising Serie A starlet for £30m would be an absolute bargain by Levy

Tottenham opinion: Should Spurs make a move for Patrick Cutrone?

Tottenham and their issues with depth in key positions has really affected and changed the course of their season. With the right additions in the last few transfer windows, the North London side could still be in the race for three different trophies, including the Premier league.

Despite their issues, Mauricio Pochettino and his men are in the semi-finals of the Champions League. They might be going into the second-leg with a 1-0 deficit against them after their performance against Manchester City.

Facing arguably their toughest challenge in the knockout stages, Pochettino and company hustled and bustled to get their win. In the end, it came down to away goals and Fernando Llorente.

However, things cannot keep going on like this. At the moment, Pochettino has an impressive core with Davinson Sanchez, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Harry Kane as the spine of this Tottenham side. It isn’t certain if everyone will stay, especially Christian Eriksen who has been linked with a move away.

It’s why Tottenham need to add a few players all over the field and the Daily Star has reported that they’ve entered the race for Patrick Cutrone. Without Harry Kane, the North Londoners have to depend on Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen.

Llorente isn’t a very mobile striker, while Janssen has struggled to make an impact. Now with Kane injured, that has caused the club a few problems but nothing that cannot be fixed, especially with the addition of Patrick Cutrone.

A very talented striker, there are few players in the world that work as hard or cover as much distance as the Italian does.

A poacher by trade, the 22-year-old manages to find space in any defence and loves playing off the shoulder of the last man. While that does see most strikers often isolated up front, Cutrone makes up for that with his work-rate.

Always running up and around the field, the Italian makes himself an all-around menace. And more than anything that’s what Tottenham need in their arsenal.

Someone who can step up at key moments of a game and someone who can effectively replace Harry Kane without affecting the style of play or the tactics.

More than anything, the latter statement perfectly describes Patrick Cutrone and confirms why a move at £30million (Daily Star) would be a bargain for Tottenham.

Conclusion

Time is ticking and if things keep going on like this, Mauricio Pochettino will lose the core of a Tottenham team that he has so painstakingly assembled.

However, all is not over yet and one transfer window is all the club needs to change things around. Adding someone like Patrick Cutrone will certainly help, but he cannot be their only addition.
