Tottenham vs Arsenal: Star-studded Combined XI Featuring 7 Spurs And 4 Gunners

The famous North London rivalry gets set to resume once more on Saturday as Arsenal travel to Wembley to play Tottenham Hotspur. This will probably be one of the most decisive derbies ever, considering the fact that both these teams are very close to each other in the points table at present. If the Gunners win this game, they will be just one point away from Tottenham. However, losing this might mean that Arsenal will have to kiss their chances of a Champions League spot goodbye.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at a combined XI with players from both these teams ahead of the colossal clash this weekend.

Tottenham and Arsenal Combined XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Hugo Lloris (GK)

Lloris has been quite a solid presence in goal for Tottenham for quite some time now and he has been consistently delivering top-class results. Hence, Lloris finds himself in this lineup ahead of his Arsenal counterpart.

Kieran Trippier (RB)

Trippier often provides a nice burst of energy on the right-hand side during attacking runs and can work splendidly as a modern-day full-back, thus earning himself a spot in this lineup.

Laurent Koscielny (CB)

The Frenchman has been extremely consistent this season for Arsenal and is in tremendous form at the moment. A truly top class defender.

Ben Davies

Jan Vertonghen (CB)

Vertonghen has been one of Tottenham’s most reliable players ever since the season commenced. He rarely ever gives a cause for complaint and he is arguably one of their most consistent players. Hence, he makes it here ahead of his competitors.

Ben Davies (LB)

Another player who has done well for Spurs on a consistent basis is Davies. Although it is difficult to leave out Nacho Monreal, Davies has consistently made a strong case for himself to be included in this lineup.

Eric Dier (DM)

Dier continues to impress for Tottenham and his growth this season has been truly delightful to watch. His presence will be crucial in Tottenham pulling the strings against Arsenal in the midfield area.

Jack Wilshere (CM)

Wilshere has been brilliant for Arsenal ever since he returned from his injury. The midfielder oozes class and he makes it here ahead of Mousa Dembele, who hasn’t quite hit his standards this season yet.

Mesut Ozil (RW)

Ordinarily, choosing between Ozil and Dele Alli would be tough but considering how the younger star has blown hot and cold this season, Ozil seems like the perfect choice. His creativity has shone through for the Gunners and he is undoubtedly one of their most important attacking players at present.

Mesut Ozil

Aaron Ramsey (CAM)

To be very honest, this was a tough choice but Ramsey makes it ahead of Eriksen solely because of the way he performed against Everton. Besides, both these players have made similar contributions to their respective teams so far but Ramsey does have a bit of an upper edge after smashing 3 goals to stun the Toffees.

Heung-min Son (RW)

Son has easily been one of Tottenham’s most influential players this season. He is creative, nippy, agile and can exploit even the tiniest of spaces to create chances for his team.

Harry Kane (CF)

When it comes to Kane, there is absolutely no competition this season. He has been the best striker by a mile and nobody can even come close to catching him. Once again, the towering Englishman edges past his competitors to be included in this lineup.
