Tottenham vs. Manchester United: 3 Key Battles That Will Decide The Game

Tottenham and Manchester United face off in an exciting contest as the home side look to keep the pressure on Leicester City while United look to ensure they are in the top four come the end of the season.

The two sides met on the opening day of the season, which United won 1-0 thanks to a Kyle Walker own goal. Tottenham will be looking to win all three points against a side that has historically had the better of the side from London.

Spurs though have been incredible this season and are one of the toughest team to defeat. Both teams have an incredible defence as well but there should be some goals in this game as a win is important for both sides.

With so many stars on show, we provide the three key battles that can decide the game.

Harry Kane vs. Daley Blind

25-goal man Harry Kane was on the score sheet once again, this time against Liverpool where he took his half-chance really well. Kane will be looking to score once again this time against one of the toughest defences in the world.

Daley Blind has been decent in the heart of the defence for United but last week he showed he was more than just a one trick pony as he kept out an inform Romelu Lukaku. Kane would be a similar beast and Blind would have to ensure that not an inch of space is given to the English attacker if United are to keep Tottenham at bay.

Toby Alderweireld vs. Marcus Rashford

Manchester United also have a striker that has been on fire lately. While Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney have not scored as often as they would have liked, Marcus Rashford has done the damage in recent weeks and he would be looking to do the same this time against Tottenham.

Toby Alderweireld has had to ramp up his performances after the absence of Jan Vertonghen and the Belgian will have to be at his best to keep the United youngster out. Rashford is quick on the ball and his knack of finding spaces needs to be checked by the Tottenham defender.

Eric Dier vs. Morgan Schneiderlin

The English defender has been one of the best defensive midfielder’s in the Premier League and he would be facing one of the best defensive midfielder’s from last season. Eric Dier’s importance to the Tottenham side is growing day by day and he would have to stop Manchester United’s attack from the midfield.

He would be facing Morgan Schneiderlin, even though the French midfielder hasn’t played as many games as he would have liked or even performed to his high standard from last year but he too is incredible on his day and the clash between the two would be a treat for all to see and even decide which player’s team has the upper hand in this tie.
