Celtic show interest in Ecuador midfielder Sergio Quintero

Celtic FC news: Celtic are considering a move for Ecuador’s U-20 sensation Sergio Quintero, according to Football Scotland.

The 20-year-old is creating waves for the South American side as he scored a stunning goal in the 2-1 win over Poland in the round of 16.

Quintero currently plays for Imbabura SC, a second division club of Ecuador, bagging two goals in 37 appearances since 2017.

He previously played for fellow country club Cumbaya FC, making 11 appearances in two seasons. His primary position is as a defensive midfielder.

The Ecuadorian prospect made his U-20 debut last year and went on to make 9 appearances until now. Furthermore, he was also an integral part of the side that won the South American U-20 Championship in February.
