Transfer News: Leicester City plot move for Rangers duo

Brendan Rodgers is interested in Morelos and Tavernier

Rangers News: Leicester City are eyeing up a move for Rangers duo Alfredo Morelos and James Tavernier.

Brendan Rodgers is poised for a great Premier League campaign as the new Leicester boss with his talented squad.

The Northern Irish manager has set his sight on the Gers duo alongside Celtic’s Kiernan Tierney, one of his former protégés.

Morelos, 22, has been on the transfer radar of a swarm of clubs while Tavernier is linked with a move to Aston Villa.

Both of them were pivotal for the Light Blues in the recently concluded season as they combined to involve them in more than 50 goals.

The Colombian striker ended up the Premiership’s top scorer while the full-back Tavernier was the league’s highest assists provider.

On the downside, Morelos has been the subject of sheer misconduct on the field despite garnering an impressive 29-goal tally.  And he has received a total of 5 red cards and two suspension spells, which prevented his national call-up from the Colombian manager Carlos Queiroz.

The Gers would find it difficult to sort out the replacements if both the players opt out to move this summer.
