Rangers News: Rangers have entered the transfer race with Hull City and Stoke City to sign Oldham Athletic defender George Edmundson, as per the reports from The Sun.
The report also adds that the League Two defender is valued around £450,000 (h/t The Sun).
Player stats
Edmundson has been a revelation for the League Two side this season with 50 appearances. Despite being a centre-back, he has also contributed to the side’s attack with 2 goals and 4 assists
A youth product of Latics, the 21-year-old had his loan spells at Alfreton Town and AFC Fylde.
Possibilities of signing
Latics will be playing in the League Two next season and this would definitely help the Light Blues persuade Edmundson to Ibrox.
Why should the Gers move for Edmundson?
The Gers restored their form with six straight wins that include last week’s Old Firm derby win.
In the process, the Gers kept 5 clean sheets and the defenders were highly praised by both the manager and the fans.
Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic have been exceptional and remained the first choice for Steven Gerrard.
Joe Worrall is set to return his parent club, Nottingham Forest, this summer, which leaves Gerrard devoid of back-up options.

Edmundson would be a great addition who can play second fiddle to the aforementioned players and can also ease the pressure off Gerrard in terms of rotation.
