Golden Boy award recognises the best young player in Europe every year and this year’s winner is Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, who beat Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin and Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman.
All three of the youngsters have seemingly done well for their respective clubs but the announcement that Martial has won the award has left Arsenal fans in distraught. Martial has scored 6 times since his high profile move to Manchester United in the summer.
Here is how twitter responded to the news:
That golden boy award is mind boggling. How has Martial won it?!

Hector Bellerin Ruben Neves Dele Alli Youri Tielemens All deserve Golden Boy far more than Martial.

Martial wins Golden Boy ’15 presumably for his whopping 5 goals. Completely undermines what players like Alli and Tielemens are doing.
