Two Liverpool players who could leave Anfield in the summer – including this contract rebel

Following years of mediocrity since their impressive season under Brendan Rodgers, it’s probably fair to say that Liverpool are now looking better than ever under the leadership of Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds have been one of the best teams in English football season, sitting second behind leaders Manchester City in the league table, even though Manchester United still have a game in hand. The Merseyside giants have been super impressive in the offensive department and while the title has already slipped out of hand this term, the Reds will be eager to make a strong case for the Premier League title next season.

Therefore, Klopp will definitely look to further strengthen his team this summer, which could prompt them to offload a few of the existing players.

In this article, we will talk about two players who are destined to leave Anfield in the upcoming transfer window.

Adam Lallana

For many of us, it would not be a surprise to see Adam Lallana leaving the club this summer.

Since moving to the Merseyside in the summer of 2014, Lallana’s career at Liverpool has been plagued by injuries, which in turn, has minimized his playing time during his four-year stint with the club.

Despite being regarded as one of the finest attacking weapons at Klopp’s disposal, the former Southampton midfielder has failed in providing any consistency with his performances, largely due to his frequent injury issues.

Lallana has featured in only nine games this season, in which he has failed to get involved in any of Liverpool’s goals. And considering how well their front trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane has played this season — coupled with the fact that RB Leipzig’s star midfielder Naby Keita is also set to arrive by the start of next term — Lallana would see a significant reduction in his chances of breaking into the first team.

Therefore, the England International is likely to be keen to leave the Anfield this summer, in order to get some regular first-team action under his belt.

Emre Can

Emre Can’s transfer saga this season has left the fans wondering about his future at the club in the nigh future.

The German international’s current contract with the club expires at the end of the season but the midfielder is yet to sign a contract extension with Liverpool so far. According to reports, the former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder is willing to switch clubs this summer but is also open to contract talks, should Liverpool meet his requirements.

European giants Juventus, in particular, have shown a keen interest in the services of the German international with the Juve chief executive Giuseppe Marotta confirming the club’s interest in the player, earlier this week.

Can’s chances of remaining with the Reds beyond the end of this season remain very slim with the player attracting interest from a host of top clubs in Europe, including Manchester United.
