Two Transfer Ins and One Transfer Out That Could Help Leeds United’s Promotion Chances This Season

Three major transfers that should happen at Leeds United this summer

With the new season not too far away, all the clubs are trying to sell and purchase players. With a brand new manager in the form of Marco Bielsa, Leeds seem to have exciting times ahead and are already making some waves in the transfer market.

They must spend big to improve on a disappointing campaign last season. It will be fascinating to see what the world-famous manager does with his first foray into English management. He failed at his last two attempts in club football but with Leeds, he could finally make his mark.

Here are three moves that should shape their transfer window this summer.

Ins

Matej Vydra

Matej Vydra

Despite being the top scorer in the Championship last season, Derby County must sell the Czech striker in a bid to lower their wage bill and generate funds. Vydra is immensely talented but he did cool off a little towards the end of the campaign, grabbing only three goals in his last 10 games.

However, Leeds need goals and if he can recapture his best form, he could be the answer to their prayers.

Abel Hernandez

Leeds have shown interest in Hernandez, who is a free agent at the moment after leaving Hull City.

In direct contrast to Vydra, he was injured for most of the campaign but he got going in the final stage as he scored 5 goals in 7 games. If Leeds sign him, they must ensure he continues this red hot-form into the next season.

Outs

Vurnon Anita

Leeds have been incredibly busy already in the transfer window so far. In fact, they have gotten rid of many unwanted players and have signed 8 players either on permanent deals or on loans.

However, one name that has constantly been linked with an exit is Vurnon Anita, who experienced a fragmented campaign due to injuries. When fully fit, the player does not shy away from delivering the goods and is a top-quality player.

Hence, it should only be a matter of time before another Championship club offers him a deal.
