Jores Okore – an Ivorian born Danish defender, currently playing for F.C. Nordsjælland as a center back. After joining the club in 2011 the defender has risen to prominence with his string of impressive displays in recent times and also managed to earn 4 international caps to his name. Jores Okore played in the Champions league clash against Chelsea earlier this week and his performance has impressed Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel.

Schmeichel wants Jores Okore at United

United are constantly having trouble with keeping their first choice center backs fit during the past couple of seasons. With Vidic and Smalling currently in the injury bed and the ageing Rio Ferdinand, United desparately need a defender who can play a minimum 35 games a season. Peter Schmeichel admits that he has recommended Nordsjaelland defender Jores Okore to Sir Alex Ferguson after seeing his performance in Denmark.

“Of course I have already mentioned him to Sir Alex. I think everyone who has seen him play and have contacts at various clubs, has kept an eye on him,” said Schmeichel.

“We always knew he was fast, and we have always known his strength. He is good in the air, but we’ve never seen him in this scene at this level, and the way he played, I was surprised that he could actually play the ball the way he did and take part in open games.”
