West Ham United signed former Manchester United star Patrice Evra on a free transfer about a week back and while it came as a shock for a few of us, there is absolutely no doubt that David Moyes made a smart move by signing the iconic defender, even if it is on a temporary basis. Known for having played with the Red Devils at a time when they were at their lethal best, Evra can bring in a wealth of knowledge and power to the London-based club.
Despite struggling initially, the Hammers look a lot more solid under Moyes’ watchful eyes and are no longer in danger of relegation. However, to see the season through and end it on a positive note, a player like Evra can prove to be a blessing.
The veteran full-back found himself without a club after the UEFA banned him for the rest of the season for kicking a fan. Eventually, Marseille terminated his contract and now, he is back in action for the rest of the season in the Premier League.
