Predicted Leicester City Lineup To Face Watford

Leicester City will take on Walter Mazzarri’s Watford FC on Saturday afternoon in the Matchweek 36 of the Premier League at the King Power Stadium.

The Foxes have almost confirmed their status as a Premier League club for the next season after beating West Bromwich Albion 1-0 last weekend. They sit 11th in the league standings with 40 points and manager Craig Shakespeare will be keen to lead his team into the top-half of the table. The last time the two sides met, it was the Hornets who came out victorious with a 2-1 scoreline and Leicester will be hoping to avoid a similar fate at home.

Team News

Captain Wes Morgan has been training with the team, but it his fitness will be assessed before the game to confirm his participation. Molla Wague and Nampalys Mendy are the two long-term absentees.

Here is how Leicester could line up against Watford:

Probable Leicester City Playing XI

Formation: 4-4-2

Manager: Craig Shakespeare

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

One of the heroes of the season for Leicester, the Danish stopper will be keen on adding more clean sheets to his tally of 7.

Danny Simpson (RB)

The full-back had a great game last weekend against the Baggies. Expect more of the same from the former Newcastle man on Saturday.

Yohan Benalouane (CB)

While Wes Morgan is training again, Shakespeare might want to play it safe and continue with Benalouane in the defence, who has done a fine job in recent weeks.

Robert Huth (CB)

After a poor first half of the season, the gigantic defender has stepped up in a big way in recent months. Having played a huge part in the revival for Leicester, he will be intent on finishing the season strongly.

Christian Fuchs (LB)

The 30-year old has been one of the most consistent players for Leicester over the course of the season. He will start ahead of the young Ben Chilwell.

Riyad Mahrez

Riyad Mahrez (RM)

The 26-year old Algerian international has flattered to deceive in recent weeks. He is long overdue for a big performance and playing against an injury-ridden Watford defence could prove to be the best opportunity for him.

Danny Drinkwater (CM)

The Englishman is the linchpin in the midfield who keeps them together and ticking. A sure starter on Saturday.

Wilfred Ndidi (CM)

The youngster has been earning rave reviews for his displays in recent weeks. He will be keen on enhancing his reputation further.

Marc Albrighton (LM)

The 27-year old works so hard for his team on the left-flank, both defensively and offensively. His crosses from the left side will be a huge threat.

Shinji Okazaki (CF)

The Japanese forward doesn’t really contribute much in terms of goals but continues to be a part of the starting XI based on his sheer industry and willingness to work hard.

Jamie Vardy (ST)

Has regained the lethal touch that made him so successful last season. He could be too hot to handle for the Watford backline.
