West Ham should shell out £10m and sign this Premier League midfielder to improve cohesion in the final third

West Ham United should definitely make the move for Andreas Pereira

West Ham United were battered 4-0 by Manchester City during the weekend as they succumbed to another loss in the Premier League. Manuel Pellegrini’s men have failed to maintain any sort of consistency in their performances this season but in their defence, the champions have been swatting away anything that comes their way.

But the Hammers are definitely going to need to make amends as they sit 13th on the table at the moment. They have a kind run of fixtures coming up as well and Pellegrini should aim to make the most of it. The manager is also definitely going to have to get into the market once again in January.

A number of their new signings have been sidelined over the last few weeks and West Ham are short of offensive quality at the moment. Manuel Pellegrini should take a look at out of favour Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira.

According to the Sun, Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira could be on the move given the youngster will be out of contract in the summer. A host of clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Monaco and Valencia have been linked with the player as well.

The report suggests that Manchester United are willing to sell their youth graduate for a fee of around £10million. He has barely enjoyed any game time and has been loaned out to Granada and Valencia over the last two seasons.

The Hammers currently have Andriy Yarmolenko, Jack Wilshere, Carlos Sanchez and Manuel Lanzini are all out injured, with the last two out for a considerable amount of time. Marko Arnautovic has also struggled with injury problems and that is why Pellegrini should bring in Pereira.

He is a calm and composed central midfielder who is also capable of playing in an advanced role. Pereira possesses pace, panache and energy on the ball. He has made just 4 appearances in the Premier League this season but has maintained a pass success rate of 90.4% in that time. (Stats courtesy – Whoscored)

The 22-year-old will surely fit into Pellegrini’s 4-1-4-1 formation used over the last few weeks. He should be able to slot into central midfield alongside Pedro Obiang or Mark Noble. With the latter two midfielders covering the Hammers defensively, Pereira should be able to pick the passes and make things happen in the final third.

West Ham United should definitely beat their competition to make the move for the Manchester United midfielder. They are in dire need of some quality in the middle of the mark and should do everything to land Pereira when the transfer window reopens in January.
