What Would’ve Happened If Suarez Spearheaded This Liverpool Attack?

Luis Suarez is one of those players who are different than most, those who can make history either in their clubs or their national team. The Uruguayan striker is a total franchise player that could change the outcome of the game in a heartbeat.

During his career, we’ve seen great performance from him, but there was a particular time when “Lucho” made an entire city dream with the biggest accomplishment, as the Uruguayan was closer than ever to give Liverpool their first Premier League title. Today we’ll try to discover what would have happened if Suarez would have never left the city.

Suarez started his professional career in the Club Nacional de Football at the age of 18, and since then, his development never stopped, making the jump to Europe to play at Groningen when he was just 19 years old.

He later arrived at Ajax, where both fans and media were about to realize he was someone to be warned of. After his Dutch journey, the striker completed a great move to Liverpool, where the Reds were about to be amazed with one of the best talents that ever set foot on Merseyside.

While it’s true that Suarez became a known name when he was playing for Ajax, the shape he showed and the exposure he had during his years with Liverpool were the detonators to his departure to FC Barcelona, as Luis constantly demonstrated in Liverpool that he was not just a regular player, but one who could change the Reds’ history.

Despite counting with various offers besides Liverpool’s, Suarez decided to ignore them and land in Merseyside in 2011, and it was probably the best decision of his career. As soon as he arrived at Anfield, Suarez began to earn the love of Liverpool supporters, as he scored in his first two Premier League matches, beginning an amazing journey under the lead of Brendan Rodgers.

He increased his numbers and improved his performances throughout the seasons he spent with Gerrard and company, conforming one of the best duos alongside Daniel Sturridge. Suarez showed the world he could play against anyone in anyplace, and he confirmed this in his last season with Merseyside squad.

Suarez displayed his best shape with Liverpool during 2013/2014 Premier League season scoring 30 incredible goals while he and his teammates were about to give Liverpool their first Premier League trophy, but they let go their opportunity in one of the most memorable Premier League games ever against Crystal Palace.

It is not a secret that his departure (in his words) was a big part, thanks to the English media, but seeing the rhythm Suarez had with Liverpool, we dare to say he would be a great figure (even bigger than he was in that time and bigger than he is now) under Jurgen Klopp’s management.

We all know Klopp arrived at Anfield due to Brendan Rodgers’ bad results, but Luis would have had a great stay in Liverpool if he decided to stay. Right now Liverpool has a great team and they are going through a great moment in Premier this season, but we are completely sure that if Suarez was still at Merseyside, they’d be the favourites to win the title this year, as he could score as much as 40 goals and playing alongside Coutinho and Mane would have only served his cause.
