Who Is This £16m Versatile Midfielder That Tottenham Are Trying To Sign? Everything You Need To Know

Scout Report – Yeferson Soteldo

Tottenham Hotspur are one of the very few clubs in the transfer market that are searching for unknown talents for their squads this summer. Mauricio Pochettino is a manager who believes in his man management skills and is yet again trying to sign exciting players who can come good in the years to come. One such player extensively linked with a move to the Spurs is Yeferson Soteldo.

According to reports from a couple of news outfits, the Spurs are ready to battle it out with Spanish giants Real Madrid for the signature of Soteldo. But who is Soteldo and what will he add to any squad in Europe? Here is a mini scout report of the player for all the fans who are unfamiliar with this player:

Born and brought up in Acarigua, Venezuela, Soteldo started his youth career in Caracas before moving on to Zamora, all as a teenager. He made it to the senior side for Zamora back in 2013, soon establishing himself in the first team and making 84 league appearances in just three years at the club.

At just 20, he also has four senior national team appearances, making him an experienced star, and he is surely the most exciting talent on show in his country.

Capable of playing as a playmaker behind the striker, Soteldo is a winger, who is more natural on the right-hand side of the attack. Quick across the turf and hard to mark, the 20-year old is a decent dribbler with great balance and skill on the ball. He is not mesmerising like some of the best youngsters in Europe but he is consistent and gets the work done.

He is strong in the air and can outmuscle even the best of full backs but his biggest strength is when he looks to take on the opposition to try and expose the backline. He knows how to create chances consistently and will surely be a decent addition to even the best squads in the world.

He has to work on his strength and defensive abilities but at just 20, he is going to get better and is a bright prospect for the future. He is not a first team material for Spurs or Real Madrid, but he is a genuine superstar, who both clubs should not miss this summer.

Tottenham actually need a winger before they enter the new season so the £16m bid reported by talkSport makes loads of sense for Pochettino.
