Why a loan move for this Antonio Conte signing could be ideal for Chelsea and the player himself

Why a loan move for Tiemoue Bakayoko could be a win-win all parties involved

Chelsea must aim to quickly wrap up their transfer business as the new Premier League season looms. The arrival of new manager Sarri took some time but Chelsea finally landed their man along with Napoli midfielder Jorginho.

The Blues should bounce back from a disastrous campaign last time out. But things have looked good in Sarri’s pre-season games in charge, with the club showing immense growth and progress under the Italian.

The London club have a number of players linked with exits from the club, with the latest being Tiemoue Bakayoko. The arrival of Jorginho has thrown the Frenchman’s future into doubt. Bakayoko joined Chelsea only last year but Spanish outfit Sevilla are already keen on taking the player on loan for one season.

The former Monaco man endured a lacklustre debut season in the Premier League as he was largely overshadowed by N’Golo Kante. In fact, if it wasn’t for Kante, Bakayoko would have been completely exposed and helpless in the middle of the park.

Chelsea sold Nemanja Matic to Manchester United and brought Bakayoko in as a replacement, but things have clearly not worked out. Matic has been majestic at Old Trafford while Bakayoko seems like a kid in the playground.

A loan move away could help the Frenchman reignite his career and spark a return to Chelsea’s forefront. Jorginho has looked classy in the midfield and there’s a good chance that Sarri will pick him over the Frenchman.

Bakayoko rose to prominence with Monaco in style and that turned him into a force to reckon with in the Ligue 1. But the player failed to replicate that form in the Premier League despite featuring on a regular basis under Antonio Conte.

The midfielder made a total of 29 Premier League appearances last season, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists in that time.

He also made 5 appearances in the FA Cup. Bakayoko often looked lazy playing in the middle of the park and was responsible for sloppily giving the ball away, only for Kante to cover up his mistakes.

Nevertheless, the 23-year-old is a tall, strong and agile man. He possesses a number of top qualities and perhaps the pressure of the Premier League got to him last season. A move away on loan would suit both the clubs, giving him time away from the limelight and the opportunity to work on his mistakes and shortcomings.
