Why Leeds United Should Splash £4.25m On This Premier League Attacker This Summer

Leeds United Must Sign Viktor Fischer In The Summer And Here’s Why

With 15 caps and 3 goals for his country, Fischer is developing a name for himself in Europe but has been limited to just 12 appearances for Boro in the Premier League this season.  The Riverside team may be relegated come May and as such, would need to reduce their wage bill significantly and so the sale of Fischer is a big possibility.

Having arrived from Amsterdam last summer where he scored 8 in 28 for Ajax, Fischer’s playing time has been curtailed somewhat and this has given the appearance of derailment in his development.  However, at just 22 and highly rated, Fischer would make a great signing for an ambitious side looking to play Premier League football.

The £4.25m rated attacker has pace and would terrify the full-backs in any division. His level of skill would be above that of a majority of other options Leeds might have, to improve their forward line. So certainly, Garry Monk would be interested in a deal for the man from Aarhus.

Leeds look like they are running out of puff and just falling short this season, but promotion is still possible if they hold on to their play-off place. So the club will undoubtedly be looking at areas to be worked upon.

Alfonso Pedraza, although capable of improvement, has not shown himself to be definitely capable at this level and as such, Leeds may not wish to make his loan move from Villarreal a permanent one at the end of the season. His fellow countryman, Pablo Hernandez has bundles of class but not the pace that the manager would sometimes want in order to stretch the opponents.

Hernandez’ skill level and penchant for a defence-splitting pass are valid qualities, but with the possibility of Kemar Roofe leaving the club at some point, that pace will need to be injected from somewhere else and Fischer could be the ideal angle.

Despite having been given just 6 starts in the Premier League by Middlesbrough, Fischer has provided 2 assists already and has definite quality. Leeds are a huge club and the one which, when playing at the same level as Boro, would be a more attractive proposition for an ambitious player and so a move for Viktor Fischer to Leeds would be mutually beneficial for both club and player.
