Leicester City Opinion – Should the Foxes sign Elif Elmas?

According to a report in Leicestershire Live, Leicester City have been linked with a move for Fenerbahce midfielder Elif Elmas. They want to make the Macedonian international as Brendan Rodgers’ first signing after the latter replaced Claude Puel last month.

The 19-year-old has been a breakout star this season for the Turkish giants. He is now a regular starter for them in the midfield, having made 33 appearances, scoring one goal.

He is also tracked by Tottenham, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Manchester City (h/t Leicestershire Live).

Hence, it is clear that the player has the talent that is attracting the interests of some of the best clubs in Europe.

Here’s why Leicester should sign the teenager in the summer transfer window:

Foxes could have a talented midfielder on their hands

Elif Elmas is a quality central midfielder who can play in a double-pivot or as one of the central midfielders in a three. He is pretty good in passing the ball around with precision and also shows good strength on the ball to fend off man markers.

The 19-year-old is good at dribbling and going past people in tight areas. He still needs to learn a bit about putting more work rate without the ball but that will come in due course of time.

All in all, Elmas is a quality midfielder who has room to further improve and be a superstar in the upcoming seasons. Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers is a type of leader who prefers to work with young players and groom them.

The Foxes have a good mix of youth and experience in their squad. Getting the Macedonian international would help them inbred another talent to their armoury and enhance the future prospects of the team.
