Leicester City opinion: Should the Foxes sign James Justin?
According to Leicester Mercury, Leicester City are closing in on the signing of Luton Town’s James Justin. The youngster is a right-back and is seen as someone who can deputise for Portuguese international Ricardo Pereira.
Justin is still very young and has tasted some success in recent times, winning League One with Luton Town and winning the club’s young player of the year award.
The youngster still has a long way to go and is clearly good enough to at least play a couple of Premier League games.
The report adds that Rodgers had earmarked the 21-year-old as a potential signing when he was the manager at Celtic and is now looking to have him in his plans for Leicester. Rodgers will know all about the youngster and will definitely have special plans for his development.
Ousting Ricardo Pereira might be a problem for the youngster as the Portuguese international is one of the very best in his position in the league but there is no better player to learn from and Leicester would need an able deputy to be a force in all competitions.
Brendan Rodgers is looking to build another young and vibrant side with the likes of Tielemans, James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, Harry Maguire and Ben Chilwell.
He has proved it before at many different levels, when he first achieved promotion with Swansea, and lit up the Premier League with his brand of attacking football based on lots of possession of the ball.
He then got a big move with Liverpool and after taking over a team that was struggling under Roy Hodgson and Kenny Dalglish, he got some life into it by making a serious title push using youngsters like Raheem Sterling, Philippe Coutinho, Jordon Ibe and Daniel Sturridge.
Justin would be making a massive move by joining Leicester, who have been a team on the rise since their miraculous Premier League run a few years ago.
They finally have a manager who is interested in the offensive side of the game.
