Why Liverpool Is The Right Destination For Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Liverpool are a club on the rise as their German manager Jurgen Klopp has taken them to the Champions League with a weak squad last season. Having finished 4th, the Reds are now looking to add some top class talent to their squad and the latest name constantly linked with a move to Anfield is Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

A player who joined Borussia Dortmund under Jurgen Klopp, Aubameyang has fast grown into one of the best strikers in world football. At 28, he is in his prime as a footballer, and having gathered loads of experience, is now looking for a new challenge and is ready for a move to England.

PSG were close to completing his signature but have had to look elsewhere, while Manchester City have also been linked with a move for the Gabonese hitman. So which is the best destination for Aubameyang this summer?

With a blistering pace and exceptional finishing to add to his intelligent gameplay, Aubameyang was in sparkling form in the Bundesliga last season, scoring 40 goals and picking up 5 assists in all competitions for the German outfit. Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are also scouting him, but it is widely believed that Klopp’s pull might be the deciding factor in this deal.

According to the Mail, Dortmund are ready to let the player leave for a fee of £63m and in this inflated market, it is a steal for a player of his calibre. With 23 goals in 55 appearances for the national side, Aubameyang is the first choice for club and country at the moment and Anfield seems to be the perfect destination for him.

Arsenal might not be ready to meet his valuation while Chelsea and United are only looking at Aubameyang as an alternative to Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata respectively. PSG and Manchester City have already withdrawn their interest and the only place Aubameyang can walk into is Liverpool’s first team.

The Reds are not known to spend around £60m on a player but adding Aubameyang to their squad will make their attack one of the fiercest in Europe. Klopp has already revealed that he is ready to sell Daniel Sturridge for around £40m this summer and with PSG and West Ham already showing interest, selling the English star will open up a place for Aubameyang, also allowing Liverpool to fund his transfer.

Having already spent on Mohamed Salah, Klopp might not be too keen on Aubameyang but if a substantial interest rises for Sturridge, there is every chance that Aubameyang’s price will be met by Liverpool. So at the moment, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool look like the best choice for the Gabon international.
